From Process To Promise

“What we are waiting for is not as important as what happens to us while we are waiting. Trust the process.”

What happens when the process of obtaining your  dream doesn’t look like the promise? What happens when the life you’ve planned looks completely different than expected. How should you respond? Should you give up or trust the process?

A promise is a declaration that something will or will not happen. Sometimes what we are believing for isn’t always delivered in the package we’re looking for. But think about how life would be if we already knew everything that would happen in our lives and the process of reaching our dreams. Would we really be as passionate about going after our dreams? Or would we get comfortable and not put forth as much effort because we already knew the final results?

“It is more important to go slow and gain the lessons you need along the journey then to rush the process and arrive at your destination empty.”

The process is often times what’s needed to prepare us for the promise. If we never go through anything difficult, how would grow? How would we learn to think critically and find solutions to our problems? The process may not always be beautiful but it’s critical in preparing us to receive the promise we are believing for.

So How do we trust the process :

1. Understand that everything we go through has a purpose

There is a purpose for everything. We may not understand why certain things happen but there is purpose in it all. When we understand that there is purpose in everything it gives us a great reason to keep going so we may one day discover that purpose.

2. Give things time to change

At any moment things can change. We may have a picture in our minds of how something should happen or what something should look like but things can change at any moment. When we seek to rush things to happen in our own timing we may not be prepared to handle what we are believing for. But if we are patient and give ourselves some time to grow through somethings the lessons we’ve learned will help us to be ready when the time comes.

3. Be determined to grow through the process

The process is all about growth. When we are determined to grow through the process we are better prepared and ready for the promise when it comes. Growth is not always easy, it’s sometimes very painful but it always prepares and positions us for the promise of seeing our dreams fulfilled.

I just want to encourage you, don’t give up in the process. The process maybe painful and you may not understand everything that has happened but when you reach the promise it will all be worth it. Sometimes what we go through is preparing us for what we asked for. Seek to understand the lesson and grow through it all.
