” A person’s mind is so powerful. We can invent, create, experience, and destroy things with thoughts alone.”

What if I told you that you have access to one of the most powerful tools on the planet. This tool is within you and lies right in between both ears, in the center of your head. This tool is called the mind. It gives you the power to think, and can change your life for the better, if you use it in the right way.

What we are thinking is a result of where we are in life. Thoughts are constantly flowing through our minds sometimes faster than we can comprehend. Our thoughts often provoke desires in us that we display through our actions, if we are not intentional. What we continue to allow our minds to think will result in what we experience. We must learn to filter our thoughts by: Redirecting negative thoughts, Renewing our minds daily and Removing toxic thoughts.

“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”-AlbertEinstein

Negative thoughts in repetition gives access to negative behavior patterns. If we want to change our patterns and behaviors we must learn to redirect our negative thoughts into positive thoughts. This starts with being aware of what you are thinking. If you are constantly thinking, “I am not smart enough,” “I can’t achieve this,” ” I don’t have what it takes.” Your action will reflect those thoughts.

When you notice those thought patterns it is important that in the exact moment you speak positive thoughts to drown out the negativity.  Examples of positive redirection of those thoughts are: “I am smart,” “I can achieve this,” “I have what it take.” When you not only think positive thoughts but also speak these thoughts out of your month in repetition, your actions and way of thinking will change.

“A mind that is stretch by new experiences can never go back to its old dimensions.”-Oliver windell Holmes

Renewing our mind helps us to gain access to new perspectives. It gives us the ability to see clearly and have  a better understanding of where we are and how we need to align ourselves in life. If you are a person of faith, one of the biggest ways you can renew our mind is by reading the bible and allowing God to transform your mind. Romans 12:2 says,  “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” We can also renew our minds by being intentional with the information and things we put in.

“Negative, toxic thoughts shifts your  body’s focus to protection and survival , thus reducing your ability to process and think with wisdom or grow healthy thoughts.-Dr. Caroline Leaf

Negative, toxic thoughts can pose a great danger not only in our actions but also in our health. Toxic thoughts result in physical, mental and emotional stress. Toxic thoughts can stem from emotions that have been covered up. In order to to get rid of the toxic thoughts, we have to determine the problem, find positive solutions and take action to find healing from whatever has us on edge.

Our mind has the ability to create great things if we are intentional about allowing the right types of thoughts to filter through it.

I want to challenge you to take time today, examine and reflect on your thoughts. Identify any negative and toxic thoughts and develop a plan to change your thinking.
