“Until you get dissatisfied, you won’t do anything to really move your life to another level. Dissatisfaction is a gem. If you’re totally satisfied , you’re going to get comfortable. And then your life begins to deteriorate.”- Tony Robbins

Have you ever been dissatisfied with the way things were? Maybe you’ve reached a point in your life where things aren’t going as planned. Or you’re beginning to lose hope because you’ve been waiting for things to change for a long period of time. We all get to a point in our lives where we feel like there is so much more to life than what we have experienced. We sometimes become frustrated with where we are because deep in our hearts we are hoping for something greater.

Although things may seem frustrating and disappointing one positive thing that we can develop from these feelings is a healthy dissatisfaction and a desire to keep getting better. If we want to improve we need to have some dissatisfaction with the way things are currently. It’s easy to get comfortable or settle for where we are, but there is a world of opportunity that unlocks when we are continually getting better.

Have you ever ordered something online that looked completely different from what you originally saw on the picture? When you first ordered it you were excited and hopeful that it would be the perfect fit and give you the satisfaction you desired. You pictured in your mind what it would look like to wear it to that event you are planning attend, then all of a sudden when it arrived  its not at all what you expected. Think about how that disappointment and frustration you faced would drive you to get your money back, write a review and find a better company to purchase things through.

Life can look exactly like that sometimes.  We have all these expectations and nothing is going the way we planned but imagined what would happen if we used the dissatisfaction we feel to drive us to become better?

“Change occurs in direct proportion to dissatisfaction, but dissatisfaction never changes.”

1.) Dissatisfaction helps us to seek improvement

Would we really seek improvement if we never experienced dissatisfaction?  The feeling of dissatisfaction drives us to find answers that results in improvement. Without that feeling we are either content or comfortable with where we are.

2.) Dissatisfaction helps us to continually grow

When we are dissatisfied with the way things are we do whatever it takes to get better. This causes us to continue to grow because we are willing to make whatever changes are needed to help us reach a place of satisfaction.

3.) Dissatisfaction helps us to execute in order to find results

We can’t see change without execution. When we are dissatisfied it keeps us in execution mode. In order to see results we can’t just talk about the changes we want to see we have to take action and actually try discover different methods until we reach the results we want to see.

I want to challenge you to cultivate a healthy dissatisfaction with life. Never stop growing, changing and getting better. The future is depending on you to become the best version of you. There is a world of opportunity awaiting you.
