“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” Eleanor Roosevelt

Imagine how different our lives would be if we really believed in ourselves? What would happen  if we really believed that we were able to start and have the successful business that we always wanted? What would happen if we really believed that we were able to accomplish every goal that we’ve written down for this year? Our belief in ourselves is so powerful because what we believe is reflected in what we do.

Our belief in ourselves determines how successful we will be. It easy to have dreams and make plans for reaching those dreams but if we don’t truly believe in ourselves we will never reach the goals we set. “Belief triggers the power to do.” When we believe that we are capable of accomplishing something our attitude, mindset and actions began to reflect that. There has been times where people asked me to do things that I really didn’t know how to do, but I believed in my ability to accomplish the task and was able to get things done. Think about the times in your life where you accomplished things that you didn’t know how to do, but you believed that you were capable of doing. How did your belief in your ability to accomplish the task motivate you to find the solution?

“The body achieves what the mind believes.”

It’s so easy to get consumed with life and the day to day responsibilities that we began to forget what life is all about. We began to lose sight of our dreams the very things that should drive us to create a better future. As we began to lose sight of our dream, we lose sight of our belief in ourselves and the ability to actually accomplish our dreams.

“To move ahead you must believe in yourself, have conviction in your beliefs and the confidence to execute those beliefs.” -Adlin Sinclair

So, how do we continue to believe in ourselves and the beauty of our dreams:

1.) Remember your past accomplishments

When we take time to reflect and remember the accomplishments of the past it provides us the motivation to see what other things are possible. When we can look back and reflect on the mindset and the attitude that we had to accomplish what we did in the past it gives us greater insight on the adjustments we need to make as we move forward.

2.) Guard your self talk

What we constantly say to ourselves is what we will begin to see happen. Our self talk is a powerful way of getting our mind to adjust to the right things. If we constantly tell ourselves, “I can do this.” “I will get through this,” “Things will get better.” Then our minds will began to believe and adapt to what we are constantly saying.

3.) Always be ready to learn

Have an open mind and always be ready to learn. We have to know and understand that we don’t know everything and there is always more to learn. When we are always learning new things and growing this gives us the confidence we need to believe in ourselves. When we feel confident we are truly able to accomplish what we desire because we have the knowledge to back us up.

I want to encourage you to continue to believe in yourself and the beauty of your dreams. You are so gifted and intelligent and you have so much to offer. Don’t lose hope. Remember what you accomplished in the past, guard your self talk and always be ready to learn.
