“We don’t quit. We don’t cower. We don’t run. We endure and conquer.”– Kobe Bryant

Nobody truly knows what the future holds, but if we live everyday fighting for the dreams that God has placed inside of us we will experience the beauty of living with more life in our years.  Kobe Bryant was a true example of what it means to fight for your dreams. He always visualized what he wanted his future to look like and didn’t stop fighting until his dreams were fulfilled.

Take time today to really think about what you want your future to look like. What are some things you need to do today to get there? It’s all about visualizing what you want to see, planning and taking action to help get you there. Having the right mindset is what will help you to execute these steps. Kobe Bryant created something called the “Mumba Mentality.” The “Mamba mentality” is the term Kobe used to describe the level of intense focus and relentless approach he took both in preparation and competition. “It’s a constant quest to try to be better today than you were yesterday.”

In order to fight for your future you have to be relentless and focused throughout your journey. You will experience times and moments where you want to give up but you must always keep the future in mind. As I look at Kobe’s life these are some things that I feel he embodied as he went after his dreams.

1. Hard Work

His work ethic was incredible. He would wake up at the same time everyday to practice and perfect his craft. He did what no one else was doing to get results that no one else got. In order for you to reach your dreams you have to be willing to put in the work and go after it.

2. Vision

He always had vision for his life even as a young kid coming to the NBA right out of high school. He visualized championships and winning the gold. Even after retirement he visualized himself writing books, spending time with family and creating podcasts, mentoring and more. You must have vision in order to live the life of your dreams.

3. Determination

He was a man determined to get what he dreamed of. He has a quote that says “If you see me in a fight with a bear, pray for the bear.” It shows his relentless determination to get the results he desired no matter how hard things seem. In order to reach your dream you must be determined to keep fighting until you get your desired result.

I wanted to take this time to honor Kobe’s life and the example that he set. He was one of my favorite players and a true example of what it means to fight for your dreams. I hope this post encourages you to keep fighting for your future. Things may be hard right now but if you keep fighting you will get to the other side.

Stay Dedicated to your dreams. Visualize what you want and go after it. One day you’ll look up and be at the exact place you always wanted to be.
