“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
It’s crazy the amount of pressure we face in our everyday lives to conform to the ways and expectations of this world. We constantly find ourselves second guessing and questioning our abilities compared to the standards of next person. But one thing that we need to help us, become successful in a world that is constantly shifting and changing is self confidence. Self-confidence is a feeling of trust in one’s abilities, qualities, and judgment.
If we really want to be successful we have to first believe in ourselves and believe that we can accomplish all that we put our minds to. Self-confidence is extremely important in every aspect of our lives. When we are confident in our abilities we are less likely to compare and more like to achieve whatever we set our minds to. When we are confident we are more likely to inspire confidence in others.
So, how do we build our self confidence?
1. Stop comparing yourself
In order to build self-confidence we have to stop comparing ourselves to other people. When we constantly compare ourselves to other people we diminish and minimize the beauty of who we really are. We were are created so unique and different for a purpose. When we begin to embrace who we are we can have a greater understanding of the beauty and purpose that God has placed inside of us.
2. Positive Thinking
In order to build self confidence we have to think positive about ourselves. What we think determines what we become. If we truly believe in ourselves and have the confidence that we are capable of achieving something our minds will release the actions to help us do those things.
“Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you are right.”– Henry Ford
3. Affirm who you are
In order to build self confidence we must affirm ourselves everyday. When we learn to affirm ourselves we will be less likely to seek affirmation from other people. Practice positive affirmations everyday because what we constantly speak over ourselves determines what will happen.
“A man cannot be comfortable without his own approval.”— Mark Twain
I just want to encourage you to be confident in who you are. When you are confident in your abilities you are more likely to achieve whatever you put your mind to. Don’t compare who you are to the next person, think positive of yourself and affirm who you are. You are beautiful, unique and created for a purpose. Be confident! Be you! Be different!
