The Game Changing Secret

“The secret of change is to focus all your energy not on fighting the old but building the new.”

Have you ever learned something that completely changed the way you look at a certain thing? Maybe you’ve been doing things a certain way for a long time and all of a sudden, someone shows you an easier way to accomplish the same task, with quicker or better results. You all of a sudden feel like you grew a wrinkle in your brain and life just got a little bit easier for you. Imagine how different your life could be if you continually sought out new and more efficient ways to do things. Think about the amount of fresh positive energy and momentum this would add to your life.

I remember when I was a little girl and first learned how to tie my shoelaces, I could not grasp the fact that you have to first crisscross then make one bunny ear, wrap the other string around, and pull it under to make another bunny ear then, pull and tie. I really struggled to learn how to tie my shoelaces that way so I kept trying until I figured out a method that accomplished the same goal in the same timing. After you crisscross, make two bunny ears, cross them, tuck under and pull. In my mind it seems much easier and still to this day I tie my shoes the same way.

After I learned to tie my shoes I was so excited to share with other people the way I learned. And it created such a positive energy and enthusiasm in me to learn more things. I also noticed that when I taught it to people who didn’t know how to tie their shoes at the time they would also easily understand the method. Of course, I eventually learned how to tie my shoelaces the normal way, but to be able to teach myself something that produced the same results as than normal way of doing things was a game changer for me.

When we use our time and energy to learn and create something new, it brings a new level of freshness and momentum to our lives. When going after your dreams, you need consistently fresh energy to keep you encouraged and moving in the process. Instead of doing the things you’ve always done, or doing things the way you’ve been taught, try challenging yourself to learn and explore something different and new.

Learning new things has been a game changer for me. It has helped expand my perspective on life. The more I grow and explore new things the more creative I become because I am able to use what I’ve learned and what I already know to expand and creating something different. I hope this encourages and challenges you to keep learning, growing and chasing your dreams. Focus you energy on learning and building and you will experience a new surge of energy in your life. Thanks for reading!
