“Just because something hasn’t happened yet doesn’t mean it won’t.”

Don’t ever give up on something just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. Keep pushing forward and trust your journey. Things are always working for you even when you don’t truly see or understand yet. It’s the in-between place that’s preparing you to become who you need to be in order to reach the goal. So don’t give up in the middle. Remember why you started and let that encourage you to keep moving forward.

Have you ever gotten tired of pushing forward in the process of reaching your goals? It’s easy to get tired when things don’t go as planned or you realize that time is not on your side. But, sometimes in moments where you start to feel discouraged, overwhelmed or tired it’s best to step back and just breathe for a minute. Understand that It’s okay to not be okay at times, that’s all apart of the journey of growth and change. Highs and lows are apart of the process but the important thing to remember is that you won’t always be in the same place. As you take a step back and breathe, reflect on the purpose of why you started and allow it to shift your perspective and give you the motivation you need to push forward. The process won’t always be easy but if you keep showing up it will be so worth it.

I remember when I first started my health journey on last year and it didn’t go as planned. I got discouraged a lot because I wasn’t really seeing the results I wanted to see and I felt like it was taking me forever to lose weight. As I look back I realized that it was that discouragement and frustration with the process that pushed me to try new things until I discovered what I needed to get on the right track. That frustration and discouragement with the process is what kept me uncomfortable. I am so glad that I didn’t allow that season to make me give up on the process because I would have never gotten where I am today on my health journey.

Looking back I am so glad that I trusted the journey. I feel like often times we expect the journey to be a straight line but really it’s like a zig zag and many circles. Nothing in life truly comes easy. When you are working towards something you really have to fight for it and realize that the process is working for you even when you don’t see how it’s working. The ups and downs of the journey is what helps to shift your perspective and help you search for understanding of what you need to help you get to a certain place. From my situation it was the frustration with not losing weight that pushed me to discover a workout plan, and healthy diet. It also helped me to realize my need to be consistent and continually show up in order to see results.

These are some things my experience taught me about trusting the journey:

1.) Remember that things are working even when you don’t see it

You never know how situations are working for you, you just have to trust that they are working even when you don’t see how. Think things that you made it through when you didn’t understand how you would. God came through! You didn’t understand it but it ended up working out for you.

2.) Keep showing up things will happen with time

Give things time to fall in place. Nothing great happens over night. It takes time for a seed to grow. It’s the same with life, true growth comes with time. There is so much that has to take place within that time in order for the plant to develop to fully develop. It’s the same with life.

3.) Remember why you started

The process won’t be easy and you need something deeper to keep you going, so always remember the purpose and reflect on it often.

I hope this encourages you to keep pushing forward. Don’t ever give up on the things that you really want. Remember that it’s the process that help you grow into the person you need to be in order to reach the goal. Keep fighting and trust your journey. Thank you so much for reading.
