“Just because it’s not happening right now, doesn’t mean it will never happen.”
Have you ever believed for something to happen and it still hasn’t happened yet? You constantly dream that it will one day happen soon but you’re discouraged because of the time it’s taking. It’s easy to become frustrated in the process of waiting for our dreams to happen but how can we encourage ourselves to keep believing while we wait?
We live in such a fast paced society where we like to have things happen in the exact moment but life doesn’t always work that way. Sometimes what we desire may require time, maturity and change it’s just getting ourselves in the mindset of being okay with the waiting process.
Waiting is not always easy because it gives us time to wonder and come up with reason why we still haven’t received what we’ve been waiting for. This often times brings such discouragement to our hearts.
So how do we keep believing and remain hopeful as we wait:
1. Don’t be moved by what you see
Just because you don’t see what you’re waiting for yet, doesn’t mean that it’s not on the way or isn’t in the process of happening. Life can change at any moment and sometimes what we see is not always what it seems. You never really know how certain situations maybe working together to get you where you need to be. So don’t allow what you can see with your natural eyes to discourage you, keep believing!
2. Understand that God is always faithful to keep his promises
If God promised that it will happen, it will. He is always faithful to keep his word. What He promised may not come in the time that you want it to, but it will come and it will be exactly as He said it would. It probably will be better than we can even imagine because He’s such a faithful God who always does above and beyond what we can expect or imagine.
3. Prepare while you wait
While you are waiting for things to happen start preparing. We can’t expect great things to happen if we are not willing to put in the work while we are wait. Ask yourself questions like: “What can I do to prepare myself?” Or “What small things can I do everyday to help me in the process?” Developing consistency with in the right habits is a great starting point.
I just want to encourage you to never stop believing in what your heart desires. The process may not always be easy but focus on taking small steps everyday. And always remember just because it hasn’t happened yet, doesn’t mean it won’t.
