Never Forget

“Never forget: How far you’ve come. Everything you have gotten through. All the times you have pushed on even when you thought you couldn’t . All the mornings you got out of bed no matter how hard it was. All the times you wanted to give up but you got through another day. Never forget how much strength you have developed along the way.”

In times of uncertainty and all that our world is experiencing right now I want to challenge you to take time to remember. Take a step back and breathe and think about a time where you didn’t know how you where going to make it through. But, guess what? You did. Who would have imagined our world going through a time like this where we are all forced to self isolate because of a virus (Covid-19). It really feels like a dream. But in the mist of all this and with so much uncertainty of the future, fear, anxiety, depression going on around us, I want to encourage you to take a step back and reflect on how you’ve gotten through things you never thought you would.

When we take the time to reflect and remember, it keeps us hopeful about what we can expect in the future. It’s easy to get discouraged with everything going on around us but I want to encourage you to take this time to lean and use this time as an opportunity to grow, connect and build on your future.

Grow- When was the last time you learned something that amazed you? Think about how that moment changed you for the better. Imagine what would happen if we really used this time to our advantage and really invested in ourselves.

Connect: When was the last time you really connected spiritually, mentally, emotionally, physically with yourself and other people? Think about the times where you felt your best in those areas. Now is the time to reconnect with yourself and others (online with others of course).

Build on your future: Where are you in the process towards reaching your goals? Have you given up? If so, don’t be afraid to start again. It’s ok, if you mess up. Now is the time to start again. If you know where you are in your process, challenge yourself to go further during this time. Think about a time where you were really happy and making so much progress in life. Now is the opportunity to build and make things happen for your future.

I just want to encourage you to use this time wisely. Take time to breathe, relax, get refreshed, focus, connect, grow and build. And if you find yourself discouraged and wanting to give up, take time to reflect on those difficult moments of your life and remember how you made it through. God has been so faithful in helping you through in the past and he will help you through now. Trust and believe that He is faithful.
