Grit:Passion and Perseverance

“It always seems impossible until it’s done.”

-Nelson Mandela

What’s the toughest thing in life that you’ve overcome? And what motivated you to push yourself to victory?

Sometimes what seems impossible, is actually possible you just have to get yourself to the place mentally and emotionally where you really start to believe that you can achieve your desired goal. When you really start to believe that you can overcome, the passion and perseverance to push through will follow.

I remember my sixth grade year I tried out for the volleyball team at my school. Volleyball sounded like it would be really fun, but I had never played volleyball a day in my life. My friends were trying out so I decided to give it a try too. I tried out for the team and didn’t make it. Disappointed, discouraged, and heartbroken there I was as a six grader but I didn’t give up. I started watching videos and asking my friends to teach me how to play. I practiced and overtime got better and eventually developed a passion for it and I knew my opportunity to try out would come again. My seventh grade year I tried out again and made the team, but I wasn’t the same girl I was last year I was actually really good. So good that I became the captain of the team.

What helped me to get to that place? Passion, perseverance and my unwillingness to settle for less than what I could accomplish. “Just because something is hard doesn’t mean it’s impossible.”

What challenges are you facing today? Don’t give up. Life can change at any moment, keep working, believing and praying until it happens. Think about all the things you’ve overcome in the past and how you’ve made it through. Bring yourself back to that place until you see that if you made it through in the past you can do it again.

I want to give you some tips to help inspire passion and perseverance:

1.Let there be purpose behind what you are reaching for

-When you understand the “why” behind what you are doing, you will find a way to accomplish it.

2.Work hard to achieve it

-If you really want something you have to work hard to accomplish it.

3. Don’t stop until you reach it

No matter how hard it gets, keep going. In due time and season it will happen.

Thanks for reading I hope this encouraged you today!
