“Don’t downgrade your dreams to match your reality. Upgrade you belief to match your vision.”
Do you remember when you were a little kid and you dreamed of what the future would be like? You dreamed, visualized and just knew that you would be able to achieve whatever you put your mind too. You believed that what you dreamed was possible and you believed in your ability to make that dream happen without a doubt. Now, fast forward to where you are. Maybe many of your dreams have changed, but do you still have that undeniable belief in yourself and your ability to reach your dreams?
What if you knew without a shadow doubt that your dreams would happen? How would that change your response to life? The dreams you have are possible to reach but the belief you have in yourself and the work you put in plays a critical part in being able to achieve those dreams. Everything starts with a belief. What you believe determines how you will respond and what you will do.
“It’s not who you are that holds you back, it’s who you think you’re not.”
I remember my last semester of college. I was pregnant with my first child, working full time and doing an internship all while taking classes and preparing for graduation. This was one of the hardest seasons of my life but I was determined to finish. There were so many times I wanted to give up or take a break but I knew that if I kept going that I would never have to experience this season of life again. Although the season was difficult, I believed in myself and my God given ability to think of the capacity that had given me to carry so much in one season as a blessing. I knew before that moment that I’ve always had a huge capacity and that if I really put my mind to it, I could do beyond what I could imagine in that season. I believed I was going to finished strong and I did.
That season of life taught me three things about believing in myself:
1.) I had to really believe that I could do it
One of my biggest my strengths is that when I believe in something I will stand my ground and be unmoved by whatever may come against me. I know what I am capable of and once I have it in my heart I am willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish it.
2.) I needed to really focus and put in the work
“Belief triggers the power to do.” What you believe will manifest in your actions. In order for my belief to become a reality I needed to put in the work and do whatever it took to keep myself focused and on track. “Dreams don’t work unless you do”
3.) I needed to guard myself against the doubters
I had so many people telling me to take a break and extend my time to another semester. I knew that if I wanted to really accomplish my goal I had to guard against the insecurities and fears of others. I knew what I was capable of and that if I really wanted to succeed I couldn’t allow other people to project their insecurities and fear on me.
Whatever you want is possible, you just really have to believe in yourself and your ability to achieve it. Everyday is a new day and new opportunity to start fresh. I want to encourage you to step out and do what God has put in your heart. What you want to achieve isn’t going to happen overnight but if you stay consistent and believe in yourself it will happen overtime. Thanks for reading I hope this encouraged you!
What are somethings you are believing to see happen in the near future? How has believing in yourself helped you in the past? I would love to hear your stories, comment below to share.
This is so cool. See, you wrote about Believe in Yourself and I have a tab on my page called Believe in Yourself. We both had the same idea just wrote it differently. God is good. AMEN?
Have a bless day.

Thank you so much! That is so true! It defiently would have been easier to quit, I am so glad that I didn’t because it made a way for me to be where I am now. Sometimes when we push through in the middle of difficulties we end up experience so much greatness on the other side of it.
