Intentional Hope

You never know who’s watching your journey and being inspired by it. Sometimes it not always easy to see the difference you are making everyday, but you must trust that what you do makes a difference, no matter how small it may be. Think about the people you are surrounded by every day, you never know the difference you are making in their lives. Something as simple and speaking positive to another person and believing in them can make a huge impact in their life.

On last week I had a dream that encouraged me so much and it made me think about my impact on people, but it also encouraged me to keep going. I think it’s so incredible how God can use dreams to encourage and affirm you in your journey. My dream started with me visiting this elementary school, I just graduated from college and I was invited to visit this school. As I was walking around this elementary school getting ready to enter the lunch room a young girl walks up to me with a sticky note. On the sticky note it says, “Thank you for loving me enough to help me, you’ve truly made a difference in my life.” And I looked at the little girl and I smiled so big because it really encouraged me. After I smiled she walked away. As I continue walking another little girl walked up to me looked me in the eye and pointed at her shirt for me to look at. She was wearing a black shirt with big white letters that said the phrase, “Because of you, I can!” After I read her shirt the dream ended.

As I woke up, I couldn’t stop thinking about that phrase. Because of you, I can! This phrase made me think in my mind, “This is why I do, what I do.” I want to help pave the way for the people who are around me and those that are coming after me. This is why I am so passionate about my personal growth and working towards my dreams. The reason why I work so hard and sacrifice so much and put in the work everyday is not only to see my dreams come true, but also to see people who have lost hope dream again and believe that the future can be better. I know that my legacy is counting on me to dream big. And because of the sacrifice of my ancestors and the people who have gone before me, I can! I don’t ever want to take the generations who have gone before me sacrifices lightly. There is so much opportunity to create something beautiful if I keep working, believing, praying and going after the things that God has put in my heart. God has given me gifts and I want to use what He is given me to bring honor to Him and also to help people dream and take action on what God has put in their hearts.

What comes to your mind when you hear the phrase, ‘Because of you, I can!” Does it feel empowering? Uplifting? Motivating? Does it give you a sense of ownership and responsibility towards life? You never know who you’re paving the way for but, when you realize someone’s miracle and destiny is connect to you, it should make you want give life everything you have. Your life and your dreams matter so much, no matter how big or small they may be. You never know who you are inspiring by the simple actions you do everyday.

Don’t give up on your dreams because of the time it may take. I know the process isn’t always easy and there are a lot of hard things you’ve encountered but it’s building so much strength and greatness in you. Challenge yourself to begin to see hard times and the frustrating things in your life differently. Your legacy is depending on you, your ancestors are depending on you to pave the way for the next generation. I hope that this encouraged you.
