“Fear is a reaction. Courage is a decision.”

Have you ever been afraid to step out and do something that’s been in your heart for a long time? What would happen if instead of giving into your fears, you stepped out anyway?

We all have things that we are afraid of, it’s apart of our human nature. Sometimes it’s the fear of “what if” something doesn’t go as we imagined, that keeps us trapped in the same place. Fear is an easy reaction to have to our big expectations but what if instead of allowing fear to stop us, we choose to be courageous and step out anyway.

“Fear is the thief of dreams”

So many of the dreams we have are waiting for us to gain enough courage to come after them. It’s not always easy to chose courage but it’s better than dealing with the feelings of regret.

How do we make the decisions to choose courage over fear?

1. Prepare

Preparation breeds confidence. When you really put in the work to prepare for something, you will be ready when the time comes to execute. Although you may initially still feel afraid, at least you are prepared and ready to execute the task.

2. Don’t overthink things

Its easy to overthink and second guess ourselves while allowing our imaginations to run wild. Take time to write things down and plan things out so that you can develop and strategy to have details in order. After you’ve planned trust that things will go well.

3. Believe that you are capable

Whatever you believe in your mind is what you will see happen. When you believe that you are capable of accomplishing something you will. The belief that we have in ourselves plays a huge role in us being able to accomplish the dreams in our heart, because “belief triggers the power to do.”

I just want to challenge and encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and go after the dreams in your heart. Don’t allow fear to keep you stuck in a season. When you feel afraid choose to be courageous and do it anyway. The more you step out the more you give yourself the opportunity to see your dreams fulfilled.

I hope this encourages you today.
