“Just because the past didn’t turn out like you wanted it o, doesn’t mean the future can’t be better than you ever imagined.”

-Unknown

Have you ever taken a step back to allow yourself to dream about what you really want out of life? Think about how different your life would be if you really had everything you wanted. Do you really believe that what you just envisioned is possible? If so, are you putting in the work? Taking the time to dream about what you want is the easy part of the process but putting in the work to actually see the results is where many people get stuck.

“You can’t cheat the grind, it knows how much you have invested, it won’t give you anything you haven’t worked for.”

-Eric Thomas

We all have dreams deep within our hearts waiting to be fulfilled, but why is that our dreams sometimes feel impossible to reach? Why are we not willing to really put in the work each day like we need to? The beginning and sometimes the middle of anything we start is always the hardest part. Looking at the big picture of our dream can make the process feel impossible; but what would happen if we just focused on taking small steps everyday? How different would the process be? What would happen if we really put in the work to see our dreams happen?

I remember a few years ago I set a fitness goal of losing twenty five to thirty pounds in seven months. The beginning really seemed impossible because, I set many weight loss goals in the past and I had never reached them. I always started off the year great but eventually I would get tired of working out and struggled to eat right so I would end up quitting. The past few years I changed my focus. Instead of focusing on losing weight my focus was to become the best version of myself and create a healthy lifestyle. In order to create a healthy lifestyle I knew that I needed a plan and more accountability. So I developed a meal plan and found a workout plan and got the accountability I needed to help me to stay on track. The process hasn’t been easy and I haven’t been perfect but I have stayed consistent and put in the work to stay on track. This health journey has really become a lifestyle. I was able to achieve my weight loss goals the past few years just by continuing to show up and work the process. I set a new goal this year of strength training and building upper body strenght and I am currently still woking the process. I am so determined to reach my goal because I know it will help me in my everyday life with having to lift my oldest daughter who has a rare disease called “INAD,” and can no longer walk. She is my main motivation behind this goal.

In the beginning reaching my first goal seemed so hard because I was looking at everything from a big picture perspective. When I took time to plan things out and focused on doing a little bit everyday by implementing a consistent routine, this has helped me to stay on track. Sometime what you think is impossible really just needs to be broken down into smaller steps. One of the things this process has taught me is the importance of putting in the work everyday because, what we do everyday is what build our future.

Why should we put in the work each day?

1.) Putting in the work impacts the future

If we work hard and give life all we have the future will be bright. If we are not willing to put in the work each day and we sit around doing nothing we will never be able to be successful. The future will only be as bright as we make it.  The work the we put in each day not only impacts our lives but also future generations to come.

2.) Putting in the work will move you forward

When we work hard and take small actions everyday its moves us forward in the process of reaching our goal. When we begin to move forward and realize that we are not where we use to be its encourages us to continue to work hard. If you’ve ever planted a flower or some type of vegetable in a garden you realized that in order for the product to reach its full potential it takes work. You have to water and make sure it receives the sunlight and attention it needs each day in order for it to grow. Over time its grows and grows and makes progress towards full developing and eventually reaches the end goal.  It’s the same with our lives as we put in the work each day it moves us forward in the process of obtaining our goal.

3.) Putting in the work will ensure that you reach the goal

The harder we worker the greater the opportunity we have to reach our goal. There is nothing like working so hard for something and finally being able to accomplish what you’ve been working hard for. The process may not look like we imagined it to look but when we reach the end goal we realize it was all worth it.

The process to reaching your dreams and goals will never be easy but if you are willing to work hard each day it will be worth it. I want encourage you to work hard and give life everything you got. “Nothing happens unless you do.” Stay committed to the process and work to build a better future. You can’t go back and change your past, but you can start where you are and create a better future. Everyday is a new day and a new opportunity to start fresh. Don’t give up on your goals, fight to see them happen. It is never too late to start again. Thanks so much for reading I hope this encouraged you.
