Have you ever wanted something that seems far out of reach? What is the thing that you’ve been wanting? Do you still believe that it can happen? Are you willing to trust the process even when it doesn’t look like what you pictured?
Life doesn’t always happen as expected but you can trust that if you’ve been intentional and working that you’ll eventually see results. Sometimes the things that you want requires time. The period of time you spend waiting and working is getting you to the place where you can truly handle and manage what you are trying to reach. It’s not always easy to wait for something when we live in a society where we can have access to things in an instant but something the wait is a blessing in disguise.
The wait and the process is what grows you the most. When you wait for something for a long time you are more appreciative of it when we get it. My health journey has been a long process for me. The process has been hard because i’ve been having to learn and unlearn so many things such as nutrition, discipline, consistency, mindsets, habits, etc. My weight has been in the 150’s since last year. I’ve been consistent with working out and eating healthy but breaking out of the 150’s has been a struggle. I’ve struggled with my weight going up and down and sometimes getting on the scale was just discouraging. After continuing to work and trust the process even through struggling, I am excited to say that this weekend I finally made it to the 140’s after months of fighting and working the process. The struggle that I experience was really changing so much in me.
What happened that made this possible? I had to continued to adjust things until I discovered what worked best to help me reach my goal. One of the things that helped me the most was getting on a workout plan. My husband said to me something that really challenged me, he said, “Random actions will get you random results. You need a plan.” Instead of just watching YouTube videos and working out like I did in the beginning, I got on a workout plan and it has been intense but so good in helping me to accomplish my goal. After the workout plan was put into place I also got on a meal plan and that has been helping me so much.
One of the things this process has been teaching me is that results don’t happen overnight but over time. If I would have given up in the beginning I would have never been able to experience the progress and transformation I am currently experiencing. I’ve been at this health journey for a while now and it’s been changing my life not just physically but mentally, emotionally and spiritually. It’s challenged me to get better in other areas of my life because I know that if I can maintain the discipline and consistency that comes with this health journey I can do the same in other areas. My goal is to become the best version of myself. This transformation that I am starting to experience has been a hard process. The process looked nothing like I pictured and I was often frustrated and disappointed because I wasn’t getting results. One thing I now realize is that the frustration and disappointment I experienced is what pushed me to find solutions.
Sometimes the process of what you are going through is developing in you more things than you realize. The frustration that you maybe experiencing is forcing you to change until you find what works for you. Being at a place where you feel uncomfortable is putting you in position to grow. It’s not always easy to trust the process but you have to trust that it’s really working for your good. In order to trust you have to change the way you look at the things you experience. When I think of all the things I’ve experienced through this process these are the things that have helped me to continue to trust the process:
1.) I always think about the purpose and the “why” behind what I am doing.
What drives you to do what you do? Always keep your purpose in mind. One of the biggest things that drives me is that I remember when I was a little girl I dreamed of all the great things that I heard was possible. Growing up, hearing people say dream big, and there is no limit to what you can do is what inspired me. I want to be able to see that little girl inside of me and say that what I always heard was really true. It’s like the woman I am now dares to prove to the little girl inside of me that dreams do come true if you go after them and give life everything you have. I also look forward to telling my grand kids and great grand kids the story of a girl who believed and went after her dreams and saw that they really were possible. What she heard growing up really was true. I know this maybe really deep but this is really what drives me to give life everything I have.
2.) I remember that failure is not in failing down but in staying down
You will experience failure in the process of reaching your goals but you can’t allow that failure to stop you from moving forward. Learn for your mistakes and grow from them. “Mistakes are really proof that you are trying.
3.) Results take time
Give it time! You need time to learn and unlearn all the things that will help you reach your goals. Think of how long it took you to learn all the information you now know.
4.) Consistency is key
Whatever you do keep on working at it. Don’t stop when it gets hard. Consistency is key to getting you to where you want to be. One step at a time one day at a time.
I just want to encourage you to keep working and trusting the process. As you keep moving forward you will begin to see results and those results will make all of the sacrifice and hard work that you’ve been putting in worth it. Keep pushing forward and giving life everything you have, it’s never too late try and start again. Thanks so much for reading, I hope this encouraged you.

Yes knowing what to do…is not hard… being consistent well let me pour my wine and tell you all about it. Yes, we all need to keep at it and not let life get in our way. What I have learned is not to let that one day become one week or worst one month. But to get back on track asap. 💜

Yes! That’s so true, we can’t allow our bad days to become bad weeks or even months. I think when we have an expectation of perfection it’s easy to do that. One thing I do is remind myself that it’s okay to have bad days and I can start again the next day. I also agree that consistency is really hard. Accountability helps me to stay consistent but also developing a routine where I can do the important things I need to do helps. Thanks for reading! I truly appreciate it.
